# Motive Engine brand guidelines

Product: **Motive Engine**. Publisher: **PrettyNerdee**. Website: **PrettyNerdee.com**.

Motive is the primary name; “by PrettyNerdee” identifies the studio. The credit marks use the existing industrial engine emblem as their central identity. A transparent adaptation of the supplied artwork accompanies the product name and attribution. The original source artwork remains unchanged.

## Choose a mark

- `powered-by-motive-dark`: white type with a yellow label, for dark backgrounds.
- `powered-by-motive-light`: ink type with a pink label, for light backgrounds.
- `powered-by-motive-white` / `-black`: single-ink tonal marks; the emblem uses varying opacity to retain its detail. These are not flat stencil vectors.
- `powered-by-motive-compact-*`: stacked variants when horizontal space is limited.
- `motive-engine-dark` / `-light`: product lockups with “by PrettyNerdee”.

All mark PNGs are transparent. Horizontal masters are 2400 × 720; compact masters are 900 × 720; product lockups are 2400 × 510. SVGs contain outlined lettering and an embedded 1280-pixel raster emblem; they need no installed font or external image. These are hybrid SVG compositions, not fully vector logos. PNGs are rendered from those same compositions. For large print work, check the emblem resolution at final size. Do not crop the export's safe padding.

## Space and legibility

Keep external clear space at least the height of the capital M, in addition to the included padding. Do not stretch, skew, outline, add effects or place marks over busy imagery. Use solid dark/light backing when necessary.

Recommended digital minimum: 480 CSS pixels wide for the full horizontal mark and 320 for the compact mark. Check the destination and emblem detail at the final size. Check at actual display size and at the intended viewing distance. For smaller slots, use a readable text credit instead of shrinking the destination into illegibility. Printed destination text should be at least 8 pt.

## Placement

Game credits: place with other technology credits and respect your game's hierarchy. Press kits and websites: place in a technology section and link the credit to https://prettynerdee.com/lab/powered-by-motive. Talks: the supplied 16:9 slide can accompany an architecture explanation. Technical documentation: “Motive Engine by PrettyNerdee” is enough; describe its actual role in your system.

Using a Powered by Motive mark does **not** imply that PrettyNerdee published, financed or endorsed the game. Never imply PrettyNerdee owns or developed a third-party project. Credit the game's own developer and publisher separately.

PrettyNerdee permits use of these marks to accurately identify Motive Engine in projects that use it and in related documentation, press kits and presentations. This does not transfer ownership of the marks or alter the software licence. Attribution remains optional.

Lettering uses Space Grotesk, the site's existing display family (Florian Karsten, SIL Open Font License 1.1). Exports use outlines; no font installation is required. Font source: https://github.com/google/fonts/tree/main/ofl/spacegrotesk.
